This building used to be office space for Goldman Sachs but was converted to residential luxury apartments in 2005. There is still a large gym located in the basement used by GS employees that may also be used by residents.

I used to stop at the beautiful LIRR Flatbush Avenue Station on my way to Brooklyn Poly...I could hit the Nedick's for some great dogs and an orange drink; Loft's for some fresh popcorn; or up to the 2nd level for a spit shine...
All gone now.

The original Cross Bay Bridge was opened in 1925, preceeding the 1937 opening of the Marine Parkway Bridge four miles to the west. An expanded Cross Bay Bridge and Parkway was opened in 1939. It was entirely rebuilt and reopened in 1970.

Opened in 1937, this bridge dramatically shortened travel time to Rockaway Beach, which was otherwise accessible via ferry, or a long railroad trip through Far Rockaway. It facilitated expansion of the western end of the peninsula.
The original toll was 15¢. Today's toll is $2.25.
